Source Control
Source control ended up being somewhat of an issue throughout the project and caused some concerns towards the end. While source control is important and should be used to create the best flow of work, keeping a project up to date and prevent issues from happening it comes with its own issues. We used sourcetree and bitbucket to control our project which were quite straightforward to use and useful tools. However not completely understanding how they work led to progress and work being lost, as well as holding back items to be completed due to conflicts and or not being able to access something. The main issue that would come of our use of source control would be at least once a week pushes would be made that would somehow remove another member of the projects work causing time to be lost trying to recover what was lost. Even in the final hours of the project before it was finalised level prefabs had been lost requiring a substantial amount of time to fix and recover them preventing work from those levels being done until the problem was resolved. While frustrating making these mistakes with our source control was important to show how useful source control is but how important it is to use it in the correct manner to have smooth workflow and even find and cut out errors or issues that might of been added to the project.
